David Andrew Skiles, 75, of Bradford, died at 1:50 p.m., on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014 as the result of a fall at his home. David’s loving wife of 54 years, Dixie Lea (Linder) was at his side when he passed away.

He is also survived by his children, Lynette Foureman (husband Kevin) of Arcanum, and Michael Skiles of West Milton; and a granddaughter, Hannah Foureman and her boyfriend, Josh Smith of Cincinnati. David’s surviving sisters are Virginia Bowman (husband Vaden), of Virginia; Jeanette Skiles, of Versailles; and Marie Matthew (husband Matt), of Florida.

David was a member of the Greenville Fraternal Order of Eagles and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, also in Greenville; a graduate of the School of Meat Cutting in Toledo; and was a long time employee of B.F. Goodrich in Troy. David and Dixie ran their own meat shop for a number of years, but he has enjoyed retirement since 2000 filling his time with camping at Kozy Kampground in Celina, where he was so proud to have so many friends. He also enjoyed reading, helping Dixie around the house, and making a daily visit to Patty’s grocery store in Bradford.

David is preceded in death by his parents, John Andrew and Katura Skiles; and his brothers Roy Skiles and Marion Skiles, all of Gettysburg.

David has very generously donated his body to Wright State University School of Medicine. Condolences may be sent to his wife, Dixie and a memorial service may be announced at a later time. Dixie would like to thank her neighbors, Curt and Arlene Rolle and the Bradford EMS for their valiant efforts in trying to keep David with us.
