JOHNSON-REARICK - Hazel I. (Kyle) Johnson-Rearick, 82, of Ansonia, passed away on May 15, 2013 at her residence. Hazel was born on June 13, 1930 in Muncie, IN to the late John and Gertrude (Raines) Kyle.

Hazel worked in the mailroom at Purdue University during her life.  She loved to attend sporting events of her children and grandchildren, watching T.V. and bowling.  She was a Girl Scout leader when she was younger and loved spending time with her family.

 In addition to her parents, Hazel is preceded in death by a husband, Edgar Rearick; son, Ronnie Jones; grandson Jason Sloan Rearick and a great-grandson, Isaiah Crowe.

Hazel is survived by daughters, Jenny and Bill Hawkey of New Madison and Kathryn and Brien Hiestand of Ansonia; sons, Jeff and Diana Rearick of Charlotte, NC and John and Lisa Rearick of Charlotte, NC; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; a special caregiver, Terri Creech; brothers, Ed and Sue Jones of Orleans, IN, Mike and Lois Jones of Indianapolis, IN and Joe Raines and a sister, Bibi and Ed King of Orleans, IN.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 10:30 a.m., at Braund Pope Funeral Home, New Madison with Rev. Eric Fee being asked to officiate.  Friends and family may visit on Monday, May 20, 2013, 6-8 p.m., also at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow services in Greenmound Cemetery.

Ralph F. Mumaw, age 89, of Versailles, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 1:54 a.m., at Versailles Health Care Center. He was born on August 21, 1923 near Versailles, to the late Leo Lewis and Mary Alice “Mamie” (Pequignot) Mumaw.

He is survived by his wife, Jane (Hole) Mumaw of Versailles whom he married on July 23, 1949; son and daughter in law, Terry L. and Joyce Mumaw of Newport; daughter and son in law, Linda and Terry Cassel of Greenville; grandchildren, Heather (Brad) Ingle, Christina (Ryan) Hurley, Angela Fisher, Beth, Darrin and Trish Mumaw, Ben (Tracy) Cassel, and Betsy (Aaron) Ward; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Earl Mumaw of Versailles and Don and Norma Mumaw of Versailles; sisters and brother in law, Ruth Denlinger of Dayton and Joan and Fred Jordan of Sidney.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Robert Mumaw in 1998.

Ralph served in the United States 3rd Army during WWII from 1943-1945 as a corporal. He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church, lifetime member of the Versailles VFW, and the American Legion in Versailles. He served on the Volunteer Fire Department for 18 years and 17 years helping with Little League Baseball. Ralph worked at the U.S. Post Office for 34 years retiring in 1983. He loved collecting antiques and rebuilding gumball and peanut machines. 

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Saturday, May 18, 2013, 10:30 a.m., at St. Denis Catholic Church, Versailles, with Rev. Fr. David Vincent celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery, Versailles, with a Graveside Military Service conducted by the Versailles Veterans Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Friday, May 17, 2013 from 4-8 p.m., at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, as well as on Saturday morning from 9-10 a.m., at the funeral home.

Phillip L. Smiley, 62, of Union City, IN entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 12, 2013, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN. Phillip was born February 19, 1951. He was an avid Harley-Davidson enthusiast and loved muscle cars. Phillip suffered from a massive stroke 6 years ago.

He was preceeded in death by a sister, Margaret L.(Joe) Brown.

Bobby C. “Bob” Smith, 76, of Greenville, went home to be with the Lord and his wife on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 7:21 p.m., at Heartland of Greenville. He was born on March 27, 1937 in Corbin, Kentucky to the late Oscar & Della (Murray) Smith.

He is survived by his daughters and sons in law, Diana & Toby Weherley of Greenville, and Lisa & Doug Cole of Greenville; son and daughter in law, Kevin & Dianne Smith of Union City, Ohio; grandchildren, Dwain (Angie Pullano) Hodge, Krystin (Michael) Wolfe, Travis Weherley, Tiffany (Ryan Foshee) Weherley, Christal Smith, Christine Sullivan, Savannah Bowles and Kenneth McFarland; great grandchildren, Dwain Hodge II, Aiden Cole Foshee, Peyton Wolfe and Connor Wolfe; brothers and sister in law, Johnny & Doloris Smith of Alabama and Harvey Smith of Hamilton, Ohio; sister Martha Barnes of Greenville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda L. (Barnes) Smith whom he married on September 13, 1958; brothers, Raymond E. Smith, Donald L. Smith and Bill E. Smith; sister Rosie Harman.

Bob retired in 1994 from Wayne Division School Bus Plant after 28 ½ years of service. He was a member of the United States Air Force and attended the Triumphant Christian Center in Greenville. He loved the Lord and loved to make people laugh. Bob loved bowling, fishing, golfing, having coffee with friends and most of all spending time with his family. He was also an Ordained Minister through the United Baptist Church.

There will be a service held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11 a.m., at the Triumphant Christian Center, 1129 South Town Court, Greenville, with Pastor Sam Shilot officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens, Greenville. Family will receive friends on Friday, April 12, 2013 from 5-8 p.m., at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville.

A Military Graveside Services will be conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard. Tom Inman, 63 of Union City, Ohio passed away on March 24, 2013 at the Kettering Medical Center. Tom was born on September 7, 1949 in Fort Wayne, IN to Mary Lou Scroughum and the late Elzie Inman.

Tom had worked for Workhorse Chassis in Union City, Indiana. He served our country in the United States Army, during the war in Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW in Greenville, OH. He was always doing something to keep him busy. He loved woodworking and made various items. He also collected coins, had a big interest in old cars and going to car shows. He loved to work in his garden and also loved cooking and fishing. Tom was a devoted husband, father and brother and a super grandfather.

Tom is preceded in death by his father; a brother, Daryle Lee Inman, and a granddaughter, Lexy Pharr.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his mother, Marylou Scroughumof Ft.
